Birthday: The night before I sleep [SEO]

Tonight is my birthday.. And I'm just here in front of the monitor thinking on how to optimize this newly build blog hosted by blogger. I can't think of anything, I'm just sitting here and gaze at the monitor for about 20 minutes and waiting for the the bulb lights up over my head. One more thing is, this blog was not yet registered to the SEO Contest because when I visit the website, it requires me to get the official contest code where the webpage displays this message "Contest Code generator temporarily offline. Please check back again tomorrow." WTF! Honestly speaking *blogging*, I am a newbie in SEO and I don't know how to make this blog stand out although I have a few knowledge in optimizing the website. Yes, I already witnessed it from my previous company were they're doing this technique to increase the rank of their website. My former college classmate Elmer Claveria (he is already registered in the SEO Contest), invites me to try our skills though we are both newbie in SEO. First, he publish his webpage to the internet with his first blog Filipino News, and after one day he pop a message from my YM that his Paradise Philippines Info entry is already registered to the SEO Contest. And that is also the reason why I obliged to join the contest. What should I do? All I know is to post the details of my web blog to the internet like web directories. Is there anyone can give me a hint on how to make this blog prominent?

I persuade myself to
search the internet by using this keyword "optimize blog" until I saw this page stating that
Pay Attention to How You Write. One of my favorite bloggers has the
unfortunate habit of writing detailed long entries… without a single paragraph
break and with the double whammy of also writing with a font size smaller than
usual. If I look up for a moment, it is hard to find my place again in her 1000
word entries. As a result, I don’t read it as often as I would like to, simply
because reading it is such a painful experience.

No wonder why most of the visitors never come back after they witnessed the longest paragraph of the blog. So, 'til here for now. Obviously, I have to end this Post. Thanks for the time reading my blog.

Hi Paradise Philippines,

There are a few things for you to remember,

1. Avoid Hiddent text or hidden links

2. Keyword Stuffing >>
an Overuse of keywords in a webpage in an attempt to influence search engine results

3. Don't create multiple pages, subdomains or domains with substantially duplicate content... Provide unique and relevant content.

4. Don't employ cloaking.

5. Don't employ sneaky redirects and doorway pages created for search engines

6. Don't participate in link schemes, avoid links to web spammers or "bad neighbors" on the web, as your own ranking may be affected adversely

7. Avoid tricks intended to improve search engine rankings. Don't deceive your users or present different content to search engines than you display to users.

Fact

Philippine People (Filipino) has a little courtesy goes a long way. Filipinos are a very friendly and hospitable people, sometimes even to a fault. Take the time to smile and say “thank you”, and you’ll receive much better responses. You will receive an even better response if you throw in a little Tagalog, such as “salamat”, which means “thank you”. When talking to the people older than you in Filipino, it is greatly appreciated to include “po” in your sentences such as “salamat po”. In the countryside and in some urban homes, footwear is removed when entering a home, though they may make an exception for foreigners. The key is to look around before entering any home. If you see footwear just outside the door, more than likely the family’s practice is to remove footwear before entering. If you wear socks, you don’t have to remove them. Although if you don’t remove them they will be very dirty. - Sikat ang Pinoy
